Ministers Betzalel Smotrich and Avi Dichter are not necessarily sold on the proposed ceasefire agreement in the north, according to statements both made today (Monday).
At a meeting of the Yesha Council, Smotrich said that "no agreement, if it is signed, will be worth the paper it is written on - it's not of interest. What is of interest is that we took them apart and will continue to take them apart," in reference to the fighting against Hezbollah.
Meanwhile, Agricultural Minister Avi Dichter said "to the residents of the north and others from around the country appealing to me ... I wish to calm you down and clarify: If the agreement with Lebanon is a copy-paste of 1701, I will not support it. That agreement prepared Hezbollah for the third (Lebanon War), which it started on October 8 to help the murderers of Hamas in Gaza."
He ended by saying that "tomorrow in the cabinet, we will learn the details and decide accordingly."
