Police are investigating a possible terror motive in the killing of an Israeli locksmith who was fatally shot in South Memphis after responding to what appeared to be a routine service call. Aviv Brook, who served the local Jewish community, was found dead early Friday morning in what his family fears was a targeted attack.
Memphis Police discovered Brook's body shortly after 1:15 AM Friday when they responded to reports of gunfire in South Memphis. Investigators believe Brook was called to the location under the pretense of providing locksmith services before being attacked and robbed. No arrests have been made.
The Israeli Foreign Ministry confirmed they are closely monitoring the investigation, while Brook's family works to have his body returned to Israel for burial.
