In light of reports of progress in negotiations for an agreement to end the war in Lebanon, Hezbollah Secretary-General Naim Qassem delivered a speech today (Wednesday) in which he confirmed that the organization accepted the American initiative for a ceasefire and shared their comments with the American delegation.

According to Qassem, the cessation of hostilities depends on the "Israeli response and Netanyahu's seriousness," while Hezbollah will allow the ceasefire talks to continue and "we will see if they yield results or not." However, Qassem clarified that "we will negotiate and fight simultaneously." We are ready to pay a heavy price, but Israel will also pay a heavy price.

"We have conditions for ending the war, and if that doesn't happen – we can continue fighting for a long time," he added. "Israel expected to achieve through an agreement what it could not achieve on the ground. It's not possible. Israel must not have the option to violate Lebanon's sovereignty, to enter and kill at will."

He also referred to the recent IDF attacks in Beirut, in which, among others, the spokesperson of the terrorist organization, Muhammad Afif, was eliminated. "The attacks on us were painful, but our organization managed to recover from the price it paid." "We have strong and determined fighters," Qassem claimed. "We will not leave the capital under the attacks of the Israeli enemy. The response to any attack in Beirut must be in the center of Tel Aviv."
