Wouldn't Be Surprising

At a meeting of the Otzmah Yehudit Knesset faction today (Monday), National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir said that Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara was trying to "find something" on the minister over his liberal gun licensing policies. The Attorney General denies this.

At the meeting, Ben Gvir told of a Deputy Attorney General who came to him telling of how he went to the Lahav 433 investigative unit seeking to open a criminal investigation into the minister over his gun permitting policies.

After the unit said that Ben Gvir is clean, the Deputy told the Attorney General - only to be berated for being "too weak" and being replaced by another deputy, "someone who's diligent," according to Ben Gvir. "This time they gave an order - investigate and find me something against minister Ben Gvir."

The Attorney General's spokesperson issued a statement saying these events never took place.
