We didn't run away, honest! Hamas denies leaving Qatar for Turkey

Hamas issued an official statement denying that its leaders have left Qatar for Turkey, calling Israeli reports to that effect false rumors.

Hamas' official channel just released a statement today (Monday) denying reports in the Israeli media that all Hamas leaders had left Qatar for Turkey, calling them "rumors the occupation tends to spread from time to time."

Israeli sources had told Kann that the decision of the remaining Hamas political leaders to leave Qatar for Turkey had been taken recently, and had occurred only weeks after the United States said that Qatar intends to expel all Hamas leaders from the country.

It remains unclear how much this matters for a hostage deal, as Qatar has temporarily removed itself as a mediator, and Hamas leaders abroad claim they have not been able to contact leaders in Gaza in charge of managing the hostages.
