Einav Zangauker, the mother of hostage Matan Zangauker, has made an emotional plea to U.S. President-elect Donald Trump, urging him to intervene immediately in efforts to secure the release of Israeli captives held by Hamas in Gaza.

Speaking at the weekly rally outside the Kirya military base in Tel Aviv, she voiced frustration with Israeli leadership. “[Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu refuses to end the war,” Zangauker said. “Do everything to end the war and bring back the hostages. They won’t survive until your inauguration in January.”
