Shas party leader Aryeh Deri met today (Tuesday) with US Ambassador Jack Lew. There, they discussed the ongoing war against terrorists in Gaza and the increasing tensions with Iran.

The two reportedly spent much of the meeting to discuss the matter of the hostages and how to quickly get them back safely to their homes.

Deri has long been in favor of a middle ground between the hawks and relative moderates in the Israeli government, especially regarding the return of the hostages, and some of his Charedi colleagues share his views.
