Political sources suggest that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s sudden decision to dismiss Defense Minister Yoav Gallant may signal a broader overhaul within Israel’s security leadership. Reports claim that IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi and Shin Bet head Ronen Bar could also be at risk of losing their positions.

However, the Prime Minister’s Office denied these claims, stating, “The reports suggesting the Prime Minister intends to dismiss senior security officials are false and meant to stir division. The same goes for baseless claims that Haredi ministers were aware of this; they learned about it from the media.”

Netanyahu attributed Gallant’s dismissal to a “crisis of trust” and significant disagreements over wartime decisions, adding, “My foremost duty as Prime Minister is to secure Israel’s safety and lead us to complete victory.”
