Netanyahu: "I would accept a ceasefire agreement without hesitation if it was genuine"

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded to an Egyptian proposal for a 48-hour ceasefire in Gaza, which includes the release of four hostages held by Hamas. He stated, "If there were a genuine agreement for a two-day ceasefire to secure the release of four hostages, I would accept it without hesitation."

Netanyahu also discussed ongoing efforts to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons and referenced Israel's recent military actions against Iranian sites. "I remain committed to addressing the Iranian nuclear threat, which is a top priority for us. Israel is recognized as the strongest nation in the region, and these critical times have marked a significant shift," he said.

In relation to the Draft Law concerning the conscription of haredi men into the IDF, MK Eli Dallal emphasized, "The Likud, as a national movement, cannot support a law that exempts thousands of haredim during an existential conflict. If we were to enact such legislation, we would risk losing public support."

Dallal continued, "I attend funerals and comfort the grieving, and many are pleading with me not to advance this law. It’s impossible not to be affected by the sentiments from the ground. Passing the Draft Law under these circumstances, when our reserve system is under severe strain, is unjust."
