Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu spoke today (Sunday) at the memorial ceremony marking the "National Day of Mourning" marking the one-year anniversary of the October 7th massacre, and said: "This is an existential war, a war against the axis of evil led by Iran. And in war, we exact a very heavy price from those who seek our lives."

Referring to the Iranian missile attack three weeks ago, he said: "We promised then that it would be answered firmly, and in the early hours of Saturday morning we kept our promise."

"The other day we hit the head of the octopus, the Iranian regime," the Prime Minister said. He said Saturday's strike was precise and powerful: "We severely damaged Iran's defense capability and its ability to manufacture missiles aimed at us."

He stressed that the attack "achieved all its goals. I would like to congratulate all our fighters and commanders in the IDF and in the security forces who took part in the operation: the chief of staff, the commander of the air force, the air force pilots, the mechanics and all the ground crews, the head of Military Intelligence and the entire intelligence apparatus, the head of the Mossad and the men and women of the Mossad." Netanyahu also thanked the United States "for its close coordination and assistance."
