Staff Sergeant Malachi Yehuda Harari (22) from Even Shmuel was a fighter in the Rotem Battalion, Givati Brigade. He died of his wounds after being severely wounded on 18 October in a battle in the northern Gaza Strip.
The spokesperson of the Moshav Even Shmuel said: "The community of Even Shmuel announces with great sadness the fall of Yehuda Harari HY'D."
The head of the Shapir Council, Adir Naaman, said: "Unfortunately, Malachi Yehuda, son of Tal and Liora Harari of Even Shmuel, did not survive the severe injury he sustained while fighting in Gaza and passed away this morning. For the past few days since the injury, he underwent a series of surgeries in an attempt to stabilize his condition but unfortunately these efforts were not successful.
[We thank] the thousands who prayed for his healing. We accept the decree with pain and humility. On behalf of all the residents of Shapir Regional Council, I send my condolences to the dear Harari family, the beloved parents and all the family members.
There are no words that can describe the magnitude of the pain and sorrow we feel this morning, when we lay to eternal rest another member of the council who fought bravely and fell in this bitter war of existence. May you know no more sorrow. May his memory be blessed."
