Iran-Israel Hostilities

After Israel attacked Iran, Biden says, "I hope this is the end"

Israel has vehemently denied that its original decision to attack Iran's oil fields and nukes was stopped by the Biden administration, who promised concessions if it limited its response to the Iranian attack.

A few weeks ago, Israel decided that its attack on Iran would also include an attack on their oil and gas sites, not only on their military targets.

Very early this morning (Saturday), they sent fighter jets to destroy military sites in Iran, and in direct contradiction to their earlier decision, did not touch the oil, gas or nuclear sites.

So what changed in between the initial decision and the actual attack?

Pressure from the Biden administration.

Biden and Harris and their entire admin has long been trying to get Israel and Iran to limit their hostilities. Anthony Blinken has come to Israel time and again since the start of the Israel-Hamas war to try to get Israel to listen to what America wants and demands. In many ways, American pressure has actually shaped the face of the war. However this Israeli response to Tehran comes at an especially sensitive time for America with less than two weeks to go until the US elections.

As a result of this pressure, after long discussions with the Americans, Israel agreed to attack only military targets in exchange for direct American aid with regard to the defense of Israel and indirect aid related to the attack.

However, two senior Israeli officials reported that Israel has conveyed a message to Tehran: "The next attack will include political infrastructure and gas and oil sites."
