Israel-Hezbollah War, Fallen Soldier

Major (res.) Rabbi Aviram Hariv falls in combat

Binyamin Regional Council announces the loss of a father of six and beloved rabbi.

The Binyamin Regional Council announced on Tuesday that Major (res.) Rabbi Aviram Hariv, a resident of Dolev and an educator at the Dolev girls' school, fell in battle in Lebanon.

Rabbi Aviram, 43, served as a reserve deputy battalion commander. He is survived by his wife, Ayelet, and their six children: Achinoam (18), Ziv (15), Shahar (11), Ori (9), Amit (7), and Avri (4).

Support teams from the community and regional council are assisting the family during this difficult time.

Binyamin Regional Council Head Israel Ganz eulogized Rabbi Aviram, saying, "The people of Israel have lost a great educator who embodied the values he taught and brought them to the battlefield. He was a man of both the book and the sword. We embrace his dear wife Ayelet and his six beloved children. Rabbi Aviram leaves us with a profound loss but also a lasting legacy - to continue the victory for Israel's resurrection."

Earlier that day, the IDF announced that Master Sergeant (res.) Saar Eliad Navarsky, 27, from Tel Aviv-Yafo, fell during combat in the north. Navarsky was a reservist in the 508th Battalion of the 7338th "Adirim" Brigade. Three additional reservist soldiers from the same battalion were severely injured during the incident.
