ISRAELI SETTLERS GO CRAZY: Why did they riot in the West Bank?

Settler violence is a problem– but it's not as much of a problem as America likes to make out.

Settlers set building alight

Israeli masked individuals rioted in several Palestinian villages following the evacuation of the "Or Yosef" outpost.

According to IDF reports, after the evacuation, dozens of Israelis arrived at the Palestinian village of Beit Furik and set fire to two buildings and several vehicles. The rioters then attempted to enter Beit Rougeib village but were blocked by IDF forces. Six people were arrested at the scene.

At the same time, about 20 masked Israelis entered Huwara, setting fire to several vehicles and a building. Two Palestinian children were injured by stone throwing. The IDF also reported that Israelis attacked the security coordinator of Yitzhar with clubs and he then responded by firing warning shots in the air.

The IDF stated that the evacuated outpost was built on private Palestinian land near Nablus and consisted of three buildings. "The construction was illegal and was evacuated by decision of the security establishment, also in light of numerous criminal incidents targeting Palestinians in the area, which had the potential to inflame the region," the military said.

One of the structures served as a study hall (Beit Midrash), and residents were asked to evacuate it in advance out of respect for its sanctity. Forces operating in the area were instructed to act with sensitivity regarding religious items in the building.

Two Border Police officers were injured by stone-throwing during the evacuation. The IDF emphasized that it views any violence against security forces with severity and called for prosecuting lawbreakers.
