Staff Sergeant Yishai Mann, 21, from Mitzpe Yericho, tragically fell in an operational accident near Gaza, the IDF reported.

Mann, who served in the Nahal Brigade's 50th Battalion, died in a vehicle accident while carrying out his duties near the Gaza Strip.

He is survived by his parents, Michael and Dina, and his three siblings: Avigayil, Moria, and Akiva, according to a statement from the Binyamin Regional Council.

“The town of Mitzpe Yericho and the entire Council stand with the family during this difficult time,” the Council’s announcement added. Binyamin Regional Council head Israel Ganz expressed his condolences, saying, "We bow our heads in the wake of this great loss, embracing the dear parents and siblings. We feel the immense and painful cost of the renewal of the State of Israel. But we will not be weakened."

He concluded, "We will continue, with heads held high, to complete victory, thanks to Yishai, his comrades, and the courage of the Mann family and other heroic families."
