The IDF allowed for publication on Wednesday morning that three fighters were seriously wounded yesterday in battles in southern Lebanon. The fighters were evacuated for medical treatment and their families were informed.
The IDF Spokesperson said this morning that two of the three wounded fighters were regular combatants and the other a reserve soldier who serves as a field investigator in Unit 504. In another incident, a reserve soldier from the 8207th Battalion of the Northern Nahal Brigade, the 228th Brigade, was also seriously wounded during last night's fighting in Lebanon.
Yesterday, the IDF Spokesperson revealed in a live broadcast that our forces had located and neutralized a tunnel belonging to the Hezbollah terrorist organization that crossed about 10 meters from the Merhavin area in Lebanon to Israeli territory near Moshav Zarit. The tunnel was found several months ago blocked in the border area, with no exit opening in Israel.
IDF Spokesman Brig. Gen. Daniel Hagari said the tunnel had been located as part of an IDF operation to destroy terrorist infrastructure in southern Lebanon. It was also reported that the tunnel was in "full operational hold" until the fighters reached the area in order to prevent its use to carry out terrorism. Our forces, including special units, searched the infrastructure and found weapons, explosive equipment and anti-tank missiles.
