General (Ret.) Giora Island, commented on the resumption of ground operations in the northern Gaza Strip, and estimates when Israel will attack Iran.
In an interview with Radio 103FM, Eiland said: "The northern part of the Gaza Strip is the governmental center, from where they operate and exercise their civil control. If we take over the northern part of the Strip - the ability of the Israeli settlements to return will be more secure."
Regarding a possible attack by Israel in Iran, he noted that "I estimate that Israel will attack within days. And it will not be the nuclear facilities or energy facilities. It will be mainly military targets and it will go more smoothly down the throat of the West."
Eiland brought up a certain scenario and said: "It is possible that someone will offer the Iranians a deal; we are ready to guarantee that Israel will not attack you, and in return you give up Lebanon and publicly announce the implementation of Resolution 1559 calling for the dismantling of the terrorist organizations in Lebanon, led by Hezbollah."
