Nasrallah, Assassination

Shivering and shaking: Here's what Nasrallah's deputy Naim Qassem said in his very first address

The deputy Secretary General of Hezbollah, Naim Qassem gave his first address, in which he appeared sweaty and terrified.

This is what he said:

"We lost a brother [who was beloved], a father and a leader, the head of Hezbollah, the greatest person who remained of the Jihadists, a messenger and a tactician from his childhood until the day he died

Kassim claimed that "Contrary to Israel's claims, there never a meeting of 20 leaders in the bunker [in which Nasrallah was assassinated] ... Israel is committing genocide throughout Lebanon and is also attacking citizens, including women, children, elderly people and emergency workers.

Hezbollah will continue in pursuit of its goals and in the area of Jihad. If Israel believes that its aggression will lead to its achieving its own goals - that's utterly ridiculous.

Everything we went through in terms of the beepers [and assassinations of senior leaders] would shake [other] armies, but we continued and continue to sacrifice. The Islamic resistance will continue its support for Gaza and the defense of Lebanon and its citizens."

And finally he threatened: "If the Israeli wants to go underground, we are ready for it. The enemy will not achieve his goals. We will emerge victorious."

To the residents of South Lebanon he said: "We are with you. We will win like we did in 2006."

He also spoke about the current structure of Hezbollah, saying that "For each person who holds a position within Hezbollah, a replacement has been prepared in advance, [and that] a new secretary general will be chosen in the near future."
