Hacker heroes? Israeli group says it blocked $1 million Hamas crypto donations

We Red Evils boast of stopping Hamas funding, but questions remain about their true identity.

In recent months, the Israeli hacker group We Red Evils has claimed responsibility for a number of operations against anti-Israel network personalities, chief among them Jackson Hinkle, the notorious anti-Semitic tweeter from X.

The group, which formed after the events of October 7, has been working against Hinkle since the beginning of the war and announced in November that it had succeeded in deactivating his WhatsApp account.

In April, the group claimed to have shut down Hinkle's other accounts, such as YouTube, Instagram and Facebook, and platforms through which he receives funding, such as Patreon, Venmo and PayPal (PayPal). Hinkle himself also announced that these accounts had been blocked, but there was no proof that the group, which operates in the dark for obvious reasons, was actually responsible.

Now the group boasts another achievement – damaging donations earmarked for Hamas. The group posted on its Telegram account that it had managed to neutralize a crypto wallet network that transferred $600,000 in terror funds to the Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the terrorist organization.

"This is a drop in the ocean, but we will continue to fight the financing of terrorism, because this is the real way to pressure Hamas into a deal," the group posted on its Telegram account, adding that in addition to intercepting the funds, the group also took the donation page itself off the air.
