Benny Ganz, the head of the National Unity party, called at a press conference this evening (Tuesday) to leave the Philadelphi Corridor as part of the hostage deal.
The former cabinet member attacked Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and called for elections. "It is very worthwhile to be careful when brandishing the term "existential threat", Gantz said. Gantz began by claiming that he came to stop the 'dance of lies', "We are in a difficult and just war for the security of the State of Israel and its sovereignty. A war in which we paid heavy and painful prices, and unfortunately we will pay more. We all understand that we have no choice and that we must win," the former Chief of Staff began.
Gantz claimed that throughout the war Netanyahu avoided making difficult decisions, which caused the North and the hostages to be abandoned and claimed that Netanyahu would not be able to deal with all this.
"We stand here in front of you to tell our truth", said Ganz, "the hostages should be returned even at a very heavy price." He added another list of things that he believes must be done: Gaza needs to be closed from the south so that another October 7 doesn't occur. It will be necessary to return to the Philadelphi Corridor when necessary. The military campaign needs to be moved north. We need to create regional alliances against Iran, and stop its gallop to nuclear power.
