According to the report, Sinwar firmly believes in the unity of forces and Iranian influence in the region and is attempting to motivate his fighters in Judea and Samaria to carry out as many attacks as possible against Israelis.
Earlier today, for the third time in two days, the spokesperson for the Benjamin Regional Council permitted publication of a report that a car bomb was neutralized at the entrance to the settlement of Atara in Benjamin. No injuries were reported in the incident.
Additionally, a double bombing was thwarted on Saturday night in Gush Etzion. Around 11:30 PM, a terrorist arrived at a gas station in Gush Etzion with a vehicle and detonated it. The terrorist managed to exit the vehicle and attempted to attack the responding forces but was neutralized. The IDF estimates that the attack was a failure. In the exchange of fire, the Gush Etzion Brigade Commander, Colonel Gal Ritz, was lightly injured but continued to perform his duties. Another combat officer was moderately injured, and a reserve officer serving as a security coordinator in a nearby settlement was lightly injured.
It was also reported that both Israel and Hamas remain firm on their demands regarding the Philadelphi Route and the Nitzarim Corridor. Sources indicated that “there are many gaps in the agreement despite the optimism projected by Washington. A ceasefire agreement is unlikely to be reached soon, even after the presentation of the American vision.”
Recall that last night, The Washington Post reported that the United States plans to soon present a “take it or leave it” proposal for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas. The discovery of the hostages' bodies has increased the urgency to finalize the deal, but according to senior American officials, if the proposal is not accepted, the U.S. may halt negotiations.
The IDF is currently operating in the West Bank to prevent further attacks on Israeli civillians in their longest military operation yet.
