Islamic Jihad terrorists in the Balata refugee camp, located east of Nablus, have surrendered their weapons and turned themselves in to Palestinian Authority security forces, driven by fear of an impending Israeli military operation, a Palestinian security official disclosed on Thursday.

The official explained that the militants, facing mounting public pressure after witnessing recent military actions, began reaching out to authorities on Wednesday to negotiate their surrender. It is estimated that approximately 15 terrorists have handed themselves over so far.

The surrender comes amidst ongoing IDF operations in Jenin and Tulkarm, where the Israeli military is focused on neutralizing the threat posed by explosive devices. The IDF has reported the discovery of powerful explosives, similar to those used in a recent attack in Tel Aviv.

In a related development, IDF and Shin Bet forces concluded a 30-hour operation in the Far’a refugee camp in the Jordan Valley, aimed at eliminating terrorists and dismantling terrorist infrastructure. The operation involved paratroopers being airlifted to the area by Israeli Air Force helicopters, surrounding the camp, and an airstrike that targeted a vehicle carrying terrorists.
