Israel has been informing the United States and a number of European countries that any direct attack from Iran will be met with an Israeli counterattack, according to a report today (Tuesday) by Army Radio.

According to the report, Israel stated that it intends to counterattack regardless of whether the Iranian attack causes damage or casualties, thus seeking to head off pressure to not respond after Iran attacks, as happened after Iran's largely unsuccessful bombardment in April this year.
