A 66-year-old man tragically passed away during an El Al flight from Bangkok to Tel Aviv shortly after Shabbat ended.
According to passengers, the man had earlier complained of stomach pain to the crew but declined medical assistance. A few hours into the flight, a fellow traveler noticed he was unresponsive and alerted the crew.
“The passenger had gotten up around 1 a.m., asked a stewardess for a drink, and mentioned his stomach pain, but said he felt otherwise fine and wasn’t experiencing chest pain. A few hours later, during breakfast service, the crew found him unresponsive. Despite several attempts at resuscitation by a doctor onboard, he was pronounced dead,” passengers told Channel 12 News.
Yosef Dorfman, a ZAKA volunteer on the flight, recounted, “A girl seated nearby noticed the passenger was unconscious and informed the medical team. A doctor confirmed the death. We moved the deceased to the rear of the plane, covered him, and made sure he was treated with dignity until we landed at Ben-Gurion Airport."
