One day after the assassination of Fuad Shukr, Hezbollah has officially announced the death of Shukr, known as the "Grand Jihad Commander," who was killed in an Israeli strike in the heart of Beirut.

The terrorist organization Hezbollah officially reported this evening (Wednesday) that Shukr, the so-called "Grand Jihad Commander," was killed in an Israeli attack in the heart of the Dahiya district of Beirut. Recent reports from Lebanese media close to the organization indicate that Shukr was severely injured in the attack and later died from his wounds in the hospital.

Israel announced last night the targeted killing of Shukr in a precision operation where fighter jets, guided by intelligence information from Military Intelligence (IDF), attacked the apartment where Shukr was staying. Shukr, also known as "Makhzan," was the highest-ranking military commander in the terrorist organization Hezbollah and head of its strategic division. Concurrently, Makhzan served as the right-hand man and strategic advisor to Hezbollah's Secretary-General, Hassan Nasrallah.

Makhzan had managed Hezbollah's operations against Israel since October 8 and was responsible for the murders of children in Majdal Shams and the killing of numerous Israeli and foreign civilians over the years.

As head of Hezbollah's strategic division, Makhzan was in charge of most of Hezbollah's advanced weaponry, including precision missiles, cruise missiles, anti-ship missiles, long-range rockets, and unmanned aerial vehicles. He was responsible for the build-up, planning, and execution of various terrorist operations against Israel.

Makhzan joined Hezbollah in 1985 and held a variety of senior roles within the organization. As part of his duties, he was a member of the Jihad Council, Hezbollah's senior military forum. In the 1990s, he facilitated attacks against IDF and South Lebanese Army forces and, in 2000, was directly involved in the abduction of the bodies of three soldiers—Sergeant Benjamin Abraham, Sergeant Adi Avitan, and Sergeant Omar Suad—who were killed by Hezbollah operatives while patrolling along the border fence near Mount Dov.

Since then, he planned and directed numerous offensive terror operations that targeted innocent civilians.
