The police officer searched for a weapon in the suspect's house: This was the surprise that awaited him.

During a search for a weapon in a suspected house in Nazareth, a Steppe Eagle was discovered, something the police officer was indeed not expecting to find.

The bird was found tied with a string to one of the chairs in the house. An inspector from the Nature and Parks Authority arrived at the scene and confiscated the bird.

According to the police statement, yesterday, as part of a special operation in Nazareth aimed at suppressing shooting incidents and planned attacks, Northern District police and Border Guard fighters conducted a search for illegal weapons. During the search, they found a Steppe Eagle tied with a string to a chair in the suspect's house.

In continuation of the investigation, a Nature and Parks Authority inspector was called to the scene to take custody of the Steppe Eagle for further handling. Israeli police emphasize that they will continue to combat criminals who harm protected nature values, utilizing necessary force and means to bring them to justice.
