For the first time since the operation began in Rafah, the IDF uncovered and sealed a tunnel that crossed under the Philadelphia Corridor, by pouring liquid concrete was poured into it, as reported by Mako News.
It is common to think that all the tunnels in the Philadelphia Corridor cross the border on the Egyptian side, but in reality some are combat tunnels, some are tunnels for launching rockets, weapons warehouses and more. Everything that is really close to the border with Egypt is designed to prevent Israel from attacking there.
The IDF estimates that there are dozens more such tunnels that were used as the "oxygen pipe" of Hamas, and that in order to locate and uncover they will require several more months of work.
