In a Sunday morning call, newly elected UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer spoke with Israel’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

Starmer conveyed appreciation for Netanyahu's congratulations and underscored his commitment to strengthening the close relationship between their countries. They discussed regional security in the Middle East, with Starmer affirming the UK's ongoing partnership with Israel to counter threats.

Starmer expressed concern about the situation on Israel's northern border, urging all parties to exercise caution. Regarding Gaza, he offered condolences for recent losses and emphasized the immediate need for a ceasefire, safe hostage return, and increased humanitarian aid.
