Opposition leader MK Yair Lapid, at the beginning of the Yesh Atid's weekly faction meeting, called for the Haredi draft law to be passed in the current session and attacked Netanyahu claiming "he sells the fighters".
Lapid stated: "Tomorrow the Foreign Affairs and Security Committee will begin discussions on the evasion and refusal law. This is a betrayal of the fighters, a betrayal of the reservists, a betrayal of the Israeli middle class and a betrayal of the IDF. The Israeli government is undermining the security of the state. Netanyahu is selling our fighters."
"During a war, they try to exempt tens of thousands of young people without any justification. Every day fighters are killed; since we met here last Monday, 16 soldiers gave their lives for the country, and the kollel students are hiding in the tent of Torah. In order to recruit them, you don't need any process of adaptation or adjustment. There is already such a process, it is called basic training."
