Hamas rejects Biden's proposal for hostage release and ceasefire

The newest ceasefire deal has effectively been rejected with Hamas refusal regarding hostage release and offer to 'alternate' the proposal according to their needs.

The ceasefire deal is in jeopardy as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu evaluated the situation in northern Israel and Hamas's refusal to release hostages.

An Israeli official reported that Hamas rejected President Biden's proposal for a ceasefire and hostage release, altering key parameters. Hamas's response, received by Jerusalem via a mediator, effectively rejects the proposal and introduces 'amendments', including a new timeline for the hostage release and Israeli troop withdrawal from Gaza.

The newest ceasefire deal may be on the verge of collapse after Hamas rejected cease-fire and hostage deal proposal, changing key parameters drawn out by Biden.

According to Israeli officials, the essential peace plan to end the war in Gaza, presented by US President Joe Biden late last month, was effectively rejected by the terror group Hamas. One of the key components of the deal regarding the release of Israeli hostages being held in Gaza over the past eight months was rejected by Hamas, causing for a sharp halt in negotiations.

Hamas seemingly sees fit to changed the main parameters of the proposal at will. The response was delivered back to Israel by Qatar and Egypt, having received Hamas' reaction to the deal themselves. The US proposal, run by Biden and backed by the UN was met with a clear negative reaction by the terror group.

Israel was seemingly willing to come to a deal regarding the ongoing war in Gaza, sparked by the terror group’s October 7 massacre in southern Israel, with their main priority being to return the hostages being held by Hamas in Gaza. Such a plan was not seen to be fit for the terror organisation who stated amendments must be made to the deal.
