"The Day After"

Ben Gvir on Gallant: "He ignores all of us"

After the storm surrounding the defense minister's statement, a sharp confrontation broke out in the cabinet meeting with Ben Gvir saying that Gallant is "ignoring the majority."

A confrontation broke out over Defense Minister Gallant's opposition to Israel taking over the Gaza Strip following the war there in the security cabinet on Friday.

During the meeting, Ben Gvir addressed Galant: "I don't understand how the defense minister allows himself to speak like that when he knows that the majority of the cabinet is against his plan," he pointed out.

After Gallant stormed out of the room, Ben Gvir continued: "He's leaving while I am in the middle of my sentence. He does whatever he wants. What if I had told the jail service not to release terrorists just because I was against the last hostage deal? He's ignoring the majority of us here."

Gallant to Ben Gvir and Levin: What is your alternative?

Likud Minister Yariv Levin backed Ben Gvir's statement. "Ben Gabir is right. He shouldn't be leaving," he said while Miri Regev (Likud) also intervened, telling Gallant: "You said you proposed a plan, but the majority here do not think like you," to which Gallant replied: "I only presented my opinion." Ben Gvir then interjected: "You did not receive consent. The majority does not agree."

"What is your alternative?" asked Gallant, to which Ben Gvir answered: "Indeed there is an alternative, but you sound like Shimon Peres who kept shouting that there is none [to the two-state solution]."

Netanyahu: "Do not harm the humanitarian aid trucks"

After that, another discussion about humanitarian aid to Gaza broke out. "I am glad that the Israel Police is dealing with humanitarian aid. [The right-wing protesters] must not damage the trucks." "You drive the police crazy. They mainly deal with the trucks [instead of more pressing issues]," retorted Ben Gvir, to which Netanyahu replied: "Thirty thousand police officers are dealing with this?"
