The case that rocked the nation

"You tried to save lives, they made you an enemy": Wife of 'classified documents' scandal suspect speaks out

Behind the explosive headlines of compromised state secrets and security breaches lies a story of a family torn apart, with a military wife defending her husband's actions as those of a patriot who believed he was saving Israeli lives by exposing critical intelligence failures.

"At 5 AM, they violently pounded on our door before 10 armed men burst in," writes the wife of one of the suspects in the classified documents case in a heart-wrenching public letter today. "In front of our innocent baby's eyes, you became a dangerous criminal, and within moments, every news headline would be about you."

"My love, our time together has been scarce lately - 250 days of reserve duty doesn't come easy," she continued. "We know your actions came from pure faith and an unwavering desire to protect our country, to inform decision-makers of valuable information that could save lives. You said so many times that if the sergeant's information had reached the right places, our people could have been spared so much pain."

The case, nicknamed "The Sinwar Documents Affair," has rocked the Prime Minister's Office, revealing a series of security, political, and criminal failures. According to suspicions, classified materials were removed from the security system and taken overseas. Making matters worse, an individual who failed security clearance allegedly gained access to sensitive areas within the Prime Minister's Office, including Netanyahu's car during sensitive discussions.

"Who would have believed you'd be there? Locked in some basement without any way to communicate. I want to be your voice, but they've taken even that from me," she concluded. "We're waiting for you."

Israel is struggling with questions about how classified documents are handled at the highest levels of government, with sources suggesting many sensitive Israeli documents are circulating globally without proper control.
