Report: Significant progress in hostages negotiations

A senior Egyptian official said on Saturday that there is significant progress towards a ceasefire and that Egypt is pushing to have it go into effect before the start of Ramadan.

An Egyptian official revealed yesterday (Saturday) that negotiations toward a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip will resume today in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, with the participation of all parties.

The source added that there efforts by Egypt to each a ceasefire agreement before the month of Ramadan are ongoing and emphasized that there considerable progress has been made in negotiations.

Earlier, the spokesman of the Egyptian army announced that Egypt is continuing a flow of food supplies and urgent humanitarian equipment to northern Gaza.
