Globes reports that the Israeli government has reached an agreement to allow Starlink to operate from Israel and selectively in the Gaza Strip.

The sole Starlink device to be allowed in the Gaza Strip will operate in a UAE-run hospital in Rafah. Defense officials believe this unit is not a security risk but they retain the right and the power to cut it off if it does.

Musk had propsoed to allow Starlink to operate in the Gaza Strip to help humanitarian aid organizations, but fears of it being abused or hijacked by Hamas led Communications Minister Shlomo Karhi to nix the idea. Now, Starlink is being deployed, but with careful oversight.
