The IDF announced this morning (Tuesday) that after 45 hours, the army’s counter-terrorism operation in Tulkarm has come to an end, after searching around 1,000 buildings and locating more than 400 explosive devices.
According to the statement by the IDF Spokesperson, during the operation, IDF engineering vehicles uncovered dozens of roadside bombs hidden underneath the roads in order to hurt soldiers. The forces searched some 1,000 buildings and interrogated hundreds of suspects, over 37 of whom were arrested and some of whom were senior parts of the Tulkarm terrorist infrastructure.
The statement also noted that the soldiers located and destroyed over 400 explosive devices, confiscated 27 weapons and much military equipment and destroyed five bomb-making factories and four observation war rooms.
The IDF noted that as part of the operation, an aircraft under the direction of Unit 636 eliminated a squad of four terrorists who fired upon and threw bombs at IDF forces and endangered them. The soldiers eliminated a number of terrorists.
When the operation began (Wednesday), it was released for publication that a reserve soldier was seriously injured by the terrorists. The soldier’s battalion reached the terrorists later in the operation, eliminating some of them and arresting others. The terrorists were found to have four weapons and ammunition on them.
