Voluntary Migration of Gazans

MK Danny Danon said that countries in South America and Africa offered Israel to take in refugees from the Gaza Strip for a fee. "Voluntary migration of Palestinians who want to leave is something that should be encouraged."

Knesset Member Danny Danon was interviewed last night (Monday) on Reshet Bet and said that countries in South America and Africa offered Israel to take in refugees from the Gaza Strip for a fee. "I included in the program that I built an element of voluntary migration of Palestinians who want to leave, it should be made easier for them to go to other countries," he added.

"Immigration happens in every war, look at what happened in Syria. I suggest that we keep in touch with the countries of the world and not scare them with large numbers. Last week, the Canadian Minister of Immigration announced that they will open the gates to refugees from Gaza - and that is welcome. They should be encouraged to leave safely.

"This will make it easier both for the Gazans who will remain there and for the efforts to rehabilitate the Strip. I think the Arab countries have an obligation to help the Palestinians. Let them be honored with helping instead of giving flame-throwing speeches," added Knesset member Danny Danon.

As a reminder, MK Danny Danon and Ram Ben Barak (Yesh Atid), put the possibility of voluntary immigration on the international agenda, in an article they published in the Wall Street Journal.

Last night, at the meeting of the Likud faction, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that he is working to bring about the voluntary immigration of Gaza residents to other countries. "Our problem is countries that are willing to accept them and we are working on it," Netanyahu said.

Netanyahu's words came in response to the words of Danon, who noted at the meeting that "the world is already discussing the possibilities of voluntary immigration. The Canadian Minister of Immigration said these things publicly and so did Nikki Haley. We must establish a team of the State of Israel that will deal with this issue, and make sure that those who want to leave Gaza to a third country can do so It is. It needs to be settled. It has strategic importance for the day after the war."
