After it became clear that the approval clause for the security budgets for the authorities in Judea, Samaria and the Jordan Valley did not appear at the government meeting held today, the Judea and Samaria Council sent an angry letter against the government.

The heads of the authorities announced in a letter that if the budget is not approved, they will be forced to shut down their work and start a struggle against the decision makers.

Among other things, the letter stated: "You, as members of the Israeli government, are responsible for the security of over half a million residents in our region. With this action, you are abandoning these residents without critical security elements in the settlements. Many of those you choose to abandon are recruited and are deep in the Gaza Strip when they think that the Israeli government is doing what is required to protect their family, and they aren't."

In addition, the heads of the authorities severely criticized the decision, which they define as security neglect: "You turned us into beggars, you were deterred by a false campaign that wanted to divide populations and to slander the settlement and weaken it. In the test of the result, you aligned with these slanders, and turned us into those who chase after budgets while the people of Israel are at war. We do not forgive for that.

"We, the heads of the authorities in Judea and Samaria, cannot sit idly by in the face of this reality that puts many of our residents in mortal danger. If the security budget is not approved, we will be forced to shut down the work of the authorities and we will stand before the decision makers with a clear demand to prevent security oversight. As you also know, this is a budget that is relatively small, but critical for security and peace."
