New details on the night operation to free hostages from Hamas captivity in Gaza. According to the report of Galei Tzahal journalist Doron Kadosh, the operation was carried out following intelligence information about the presence of abductees in a certain place in the Gaza Strip.

After receiving the intelligence and introducing an action plan, the forces raided a Hamas site. An exchange of fire took place there and a number of terrorists were eliminated. In the end it turned out that there were no hostages in the place the soldiers raided, and the operation ended without success, with two wounded fighters in a serious condition.

The IDF spokesman announced a short time ago that two IDF soldiers were seriously injured last night, during an operation in the Gaza Strip to rescue hostages from Hamas. The forces raided the location of Hamas and eliminated terrorists who took part in the kidnapping and holding the hostages. The IDF emphasizes that no hostages were rescued in this activity and that a notification was given to the families of the injured.

The IDF statement reads: "The IDF continues to operate in a variety of operational and intelligence ways, together with the other security organizations, to release the abductees, and gather information about them. IDF representatives are in regular contact with the families of the abductees and update them with any verified information about their loved ones. The terrorist organization Hamas is trying and will try to create psychological terror. The spreading of unverified rumors and facts must be avoided."
