Following the publication of the recordings of Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar, Turkey's intelligence services warned Israel that carrying out illegal operations in the territories of the Turkish state would lead to serious consequences. In a recording revealed yesterday (Sunday) on Kan News by the journalist Carmel Dangor, Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar was heard, for the first time since October 7, referring to the war in Gaza, the Shin Bet's responsibility for the failure, and promises to eliminate Hamas leaders anywhere in the world. In the recording, Bar can be heard saying: "We will eliminate senior Hamas officials in Qatar and Turkey as well. This is the Munich of our generation."
Following this, an official in the Turkish government told Kan News that "in light of the report by Kan News, Turkish intelligence warned its Israeli colleagues, reminding them that various intelligence agencies had tried in the past without success to carry out illegal operations on Turkish soil - including an attempted kidnapping of Israeli citizens in 2022 (referring to the Iranian attempts). The source added that the warning and the message included the statement: Failure to pay attention to this warning will have serious consequences."
