IDF Spokesperson in Arabic, Avichay Adraee published a warning this morning (Sunday) to the commanders in the Hamas brigade in Shejaiya neighborhood of Gaza City, calling on them to surrender or face a similar fate to the Shejaiya battalion commander, who was eliminated in an IDF strike.
In a tweet posted on X/Twitter, Adraee uploaded the pictures of the brigade leaders, writing: “This announcement is directed at the heads of the Shujaiya brigade in Hamas – consider this statement as a final statement. The IDF will operate with extreme prejudice in the neighborhood to dismantle the Hamas terrorist infrastructure. You have two options: Surrender and lay down your arms, or deal with a fate similar to that facing Wissam Farhat,” the Shejaiya battalion commander killed in an IDF airstrike.
Farhat Commanded Terrorists During the AFV Disaster and Directed the Nukhba Force Against Nachal Oz
Yesterday (Saturday), the IDF Spokesperson announced that the IDF, with the aid of precise IDF and Shin Bet intelligence, eliminated the commander of Hamas’ Shejaiya battalion, Wissam Farhat, with an air strike.
Farhat commanded the battalion since 2010 and led it during Operation Protective Edge, during which he commanded the terrorists responsible for the “AFV disaster” in which six IDF soldiers were killed.
Farhat also took part in October 7, sending terrorists of the Nukhba force against the kibbutz and IDF outpost of Nachal Oz. He also directed terrorist attacks in 2002 and 2011, killing six Israelis in all.
In 1995, he was arrested on his way to carry out a suicide bombing and was imprisoned for ten years. After returning to the Strip, he worked to produce rockets for Hamas.
