Ron Binyamin's family members received an official notification today (Saturday) defining him as a hostage, this after evidence was found that he was in Gaza. The announcement comes after Binyamin was considered missing for 57 days.
According to a statement from the headquarters of the families of the abductees, Binyamin left his home in Rehovot on October 7th to ride his bicycle on the bicycle path in Be'eri. A few minutes after he arrived at the scene, the alarms started and he decided not to stay there. He sent home recordings in which he says that there are alarms and that he is in the Gaza Strip Envelope and that he does not know what to do, but he said emphatically that he is "returning home".
"Ron did everything he could to return home to his family, and got into the car and started driving north on Route 232. Near Kibbutz Miflasim, a terrorist squad stopped him and from there he was kidnapped," said the headquarters. "For 56 days he was declared missing and today his family received the news that Ron has been kidnapped to Gaza."
They also stated that "Ron is an amazing father, warm, caring and loving. His daughters and wife are waiting for him at home and worry and just want to hug and embrace him."
