Incoming British Foreign Secretary David Cameron visited Kibbutz Be’eri today (Thursday) together with Foreign Minister Eli Cohen. During the tour, Cohen asked the British Foreign Minister that his country, a permanent member of the UN Security Council, work to enforce Resolution 1701 to prevent an expansion of the war in the north.

Cohen further thanked Cameron for his support for Israel and reiterated the country’s commitment to eliminate Hamas and free all the hostages.

“The leaders of the world need to see the horrors of Hamas with their own eyes, and understand that Israel is fighting a terror organization worse than ISIS,” Cohen said, “even after the temporary pause to free women and children kidnapped into Gaza, Israel will continue to fight in order to secure its goals: destroying Hamas rule in the Gaza Strip and freeing each and every one of the hostages. We thank Britain for its strong stand with Israel and its support for our right to defend our citizens.”
