The world continues to debate the day after Hamas in Gaza.

The Gulf states are making economic aid to rebuild the Gaza Strip after the war and the collapse of Hamas rule conditional on significant changes in the Palestinian Authority, according to a report on radio channel Kann Reshet Bet.

American and international parties have been in talks with Gulf states recently, asking them to provide economic assistance to rebuild the Strip once the war ends. The Gulf leaders agreed to provide significant aid but set a number of conditions. Among these are: Israel must agree to a form of political plan for the Palestinian issue, while the Palestinian Authority must undergo significant changes, including in its leadership.

The United States argues that control of the Strip on the day after needs to be in the hands of the Palestinian Authority. However, in an article published by President Biden in the Washington Post, he clarified that the Palestinian Authority must carry out various reforms which will make it stable and worthy to control the Strip.

Israel opposes Abu Mazen’s return to Gaza. Many across the Israeli political spectrum, including Prime Minister Netanyahu, have condemned a document issued by the Palestinian Foreign Ministry accusing Israel of killing partygoers at Re’im to justify the strikes in Gaza. After multiple condemnations, the document was removed.
