40 days into the war in Gaza, in the last few weeks a coalition of right-wing organizations was formed to return to the Gaza Strip and all the settlements in northern Samaria, which were evacuated in the disengagement, in addition to Chomesh where the Yeshiva had already resumed operations in the summer.
The organizations that joined are: Samaria Regional Council, Chumash Tchila, Nachala, the Sovereignty Movement, Emunim, Torat Lechima, Chotam, Komemiyut, "Gaza Sof", the organization "Returning and Winning Gaza Strip Branch" of evacuees from Gush Katif, "Harchivi Mekom Ohalech" and more.
The coalition was formed in a series of meetings that took place in the office of the head of the Samaria Council, Yossi Dagan, and in a meeting organized by the Nahala movement at the home of Rabbi Avraham Schreiber - the former rabbi of Kfar Darom.
The first goal of the coalition is an appeal to the public and an invitation to join the groups that will settle in Gush Katif, with an emphasis on the northern Gaza Strip as a first step with the goal of continuing the settlement inside later, as well as formulating groups that will settle in Chomesh, Sa-Nur, Ganim and Kadim. This is not a Sebastia-style mass exodus, but a broad public demand that aims to explain the importance of settlement while formulating a strategy for return at the public, political and legal levels.
The background for the establishment of the coalition was founded in light of the success of the struggle to cancel the law of disengagement from northern Samaria, the return to the Chomesh, and, of course, the Hamas attack on the Gaza Strip envelope that broke out the war in which the IDF reoccupies the Gaza Strip.
The head of the Samaria Council Yossi Dagan explains the move: "It is clear to everyone today and we paid a very heavy price to reach this insight that only where there is a settlement there is security. In a place where there was total displacement, like in Gush Katif, we received an Iranian Nazi monster at the door of our homes.
The map is clear to anyone who is willing to open their eyes. Where we completely uprooted the settlements, as happened in Gush Katif, we got a massacre and the murder of babies in their beds. In the place where settlements were evacuated, however, the IDF remained in full security control as happened in the displacement of settlements in northern Samaria - we got a terrorist nest in the heart of Jenin and shooting attacks in Tel Aviv and on the Samaria roads, and in a place where there is an Israeli settlement as there is in Judea and Samaria - we got peace. We waited enough. The time has come to give the real Zionist answer. Back to Gush Katif. And the north of the Gaza Strip and the Security Strip first. No international body will give the State of Israel the peace it seeks.
Boaz Haetzni from the heads of Chomesh Tchila: "The Gaza Strip is the Negev coast, belonging to Israel and part of Mandatory Israel. A return to settlement in Gaza and northern Samaria is a return home to Israel and will also significantly change security for the better. Leaving undermined security, returning will restore it."
The association 'Harchivi Mekom Ohalech' deals with the redemption of Hebron by buying houses from Arabs. In addition, the association deals with explaining the importance of the inheritance of the Land of Israel and the settlement in all its areas.
The association says: "The severe massacre in the south by Hamas has led many to realize that there is no escape from re-settlement of the Gush Katif settlements which formed the security strip of the settlements surrounding Gaza and with their bodies protected the south for over 30 years. The understanding is that the settlement of the area must begin in the north of the Gaza Strip and thereby return the settlements first: Nissanit, Eli Sinai and Dugit which are a few kilometers away from Ashkelon and Sderot, and then other settlements."
