After complaints received in recent days from many residents throughout Gush Dan and Judea and Samaria about the pungent smell of smoke and fire, the fire and rescue services are explaining this morning (Wednesday) what the source of the smell is.

In a statement published by the Fire and Rescue Service, it is stated that in recent days residents of Gush Dan have been waking up to a strong smell of smoke in the buildings and on the streets. Hundreds of reports and calls came to the 102 center of the Dan district from all the cities of the Dan block - and fire crews came to all the incidents to investigate the complaint.

From an inspection, says the Fire and Rescue Service, it appears that the source of the smell is from controlled fires that are made in the Rantis areas in Judea and Samaria. Fire and rescue emphasize that the source of the smell is not ignition and not a dangerous or uncontrolled fire.

"Due to winds during the night the smoke comes from east to west and in the morning it 'rests' in our area until it dissipates." Fire and Rescue ask the citizens to be aware of the phenomenon that occurred today as well as the last few days, but nevertheless, to be alert and report any unusual event by calling the control centers at 102.
