"Terrorists are More Exhausted"

IDF Spokesman: Hamas Terrorists are More Exhausted in the Combat Zone

In response to the question of whether the IDF is working to remove the threat from Hezbollah, Hagari stated that every Hezbollah cell we see approaching the border, there is no such cell that is not attacked and eliminated. After every contact with the enemy, terror infrastructures are targeted.

Israel is at war. IDF Spokesperson, Brigadier General Daniel Hagari, issued a statement to the media this evening (Monday) addressing all the fronts in which Israel has been in a state of war for the past 31 days.

At the beginning of his remarks, Hagari addressed the situation in the Gaza Strip and said, "The fighters in the field are progressing according to the operational plan to continue the pressure within Gaza. During the night, the IDF eliminated the field commanders with the rank of border commanders in Dir al-Balah, who were responsible for Hamas' security. These terrorists are joining the ranks of Hamas commanders who were eliminated in the air. We will continue to target the terrorists in the field."

He also mentioned that "Engineer unit fighters are engaged in destroying the infrastructure of terror and are preparing means to destroy many of the tunnels, some of which are located near hospitals and kindergartens. Shiryon and infantry units destroyed a tunnel in a mosque."

He further addressed other areas where Israel is fighting and mentioned, "In the Central Command today, Shin Bet and Yamam (counter-terrorism unit) eliminated four terrorists involved in attacks. In the north, we are targeting a wide range of objectives and will continue to respond significantly to any shooting towards Israel."

The IDF spokesperson updated that a message has been delivered to the families of 348 fallen IDF soldiers. He also added that a memorial wall will be built on Mount Herzl with the names of the fallen.

In response to the question from Liran Vainshtain of Srugim, regarding whether after 10 days of ground operations, there are signs of weakening and breaking within Hamas, the IDF spokesperson stated that "in the areas where we are fighting, they are more worn out, and when they are exposed, they are killed. We will continue to fight against them determinedly above ground and below ground."

Regarding the concern that Hezbollah might launch an attack as Hamas did, the IDF spokesperson responded, "We are targeting any unit we see approaching the border. There is no such unit that is not attacked and eliminated. We are targeting terror infrastructure after any contact with the enemy to reduce the risk to the residents of the north. As long as Hezbollah continues to respond actively against the State of Israel, it will be attacked as it happens while we speak."
