After receiving 40 seats in a poll last week, it would seem the effect of State Camp party chairman Benny Gantz’s entry into the Netanyahu government has dissipated a bit, though he still leads with a large numbers or seats.

According to a new poll conducted by Lazar Mechkarim for Maariv, if the elections were held today, the seats in the Knesset would break down as follows:

State Camp headed by Benny Gantz – 36 seats (40 in the previous poll), Likud headed by Binyamin Netanyahu 19 (18), Yesh Atid headed by Yair Lapid – 17 (15), Yisrael Beiteinu headed by Avigdor Liberman – 8 (7).

Shas headed by Aryeh Deri 8 (8), United Torah Judaism headed by Yitzhak Goldknopf and Moshe Gafni 7 (7), Meretz 6 (6), Hadash-Ta’al headed by Ayman Odeh and Ahmad Tibi 5 (5).

Religious Zionism party headed by Betzalel Smotrich 5 (5), Ra’am headed by Mansour Abass 5 (4), Otzma Yehudit headed by itamar Ben Gvir 4 (5).

The Labour Party (1.2% this week compared to 2% last week) and Balad (1.2% this week compared to 1.8% last week) have become even more distant from the necessary electoral threshold to enter the Knesset.

According to the breakdown into blocs: coalition parties – 43 seats. Opposition parties – 77 seats.

In response to the question of who is more fit to be Prime Minister – Binyamin Netanyahu or Benny Gantz – the responses were: Benny Gantz – 49%, Binyamin Netanyahu – 28%, Don’t Know – 23%.

Among Likud voters – Netanyahu receives 57%, Gantz 21%, and 22% said they don’t know. Among State Camp voters – Gantz receives 95%, Netanyahu 0%, and 5% don’t know. Among Yesh Atid voters, Gantz gets 93%, Netanyahu 2%, and 5% don’t know.
