Report: Netanyahu promised Katz would "reexamine" 7,000 draft orders for Charedim

The Likud party responded to the report by saying no such decision has been taken and that Defense Minister Katz will make a decision once he gets around to dealing with it.

Prime Minister Netanyahu reportedly told Charedi MKs that new Defense Minister Israel Katz will halt the 7,000 draft orders issued by previous Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, which are set to be sent out this coming Sunday, according to Kann News.

According to the report, Netanyahu said that Katz would halt the orders and "reexamine" the issue after entering office. Multiple reports note that Gallant was entirely inflexible on the issue of drafting Charedim and had served as a stumbling block to resolving the issue.

The Likud party responded to the Kann report by saying that no such promise was made and that Katz would make a decision on the matter as soon as he became established in his position.

Charedi MKs wanted the matter to be halted immediately, but as of now, the matter of the draft orders is in limbo.
