Cabinet member Israel Katz, turned to the Minister of Justice, Yariv Levin, this evening with the immediate goal of advancing the establishment of a special military court that will apply the Nazi and Nazi Collaborators (Punishment) Law to the Hamas terrorists who participated in the attack on the State of Israel on October 7th.

In his letter, Minister Katz explained, "As the son of Holocaust survivors, I wholeheartedly believe that this is not an unreasonable comparison, as the despicable acts of the Hamas terrorists who beheaded, mutilated, tortured, raped and burned do not fall short in their heinousness compared to the acts of the Nazis, may their name be erased." Therefore, the Cabinet member calls on Justice Minister Levin to "expedite the establishment of a special court that will deal with these cases as quickly and efficiently as possible."

Currently, the law for prosecuting Nazis and their collaborators establishes retroactive criminal liability for crimes committed during the Holocaust. Minister Katz is interested in establishing a special military court, based on the existing model in the United States, and applying the law to the Hamas terrorists who participated in the attack on October 7th.

The law will include imposing the death penalty on Hamas terrorists, enable the prosecution of citizens for betrayal and assistance to terrorism, and revoke the citizenship of supporters of terrorist organizations, including Hamas.
