Jewish American actor and comedian Michael Rapaport is set to make a significant impact in Israel with his first full-length stand-up performances in the country. Scheduled for October 13 at the Jerusalem Theatre and October 14 at Beit Hachayal in Tel Aviv, these shows mark a new chapter in Rapaport’s career, combining his comedic talent with a strong show of solidarity amidst a time of crisis.

Since the devastating events of October 7, Rapaport has emerged as a vocal advocate for Israel, aligning himself with the country’s struggles and the broader fight against terrorism. His activism has been marked by a series of high-profile actions, including joining a group of Hollywood figures in signing an open letter to President Joe Biden. This letter urgently calls for the immediate release of hostages held by Hamas in Gaza.

Rapaport’s commitment to the cause extends beyond his signature. His visit to Israel included poignant and meaningful engagements, such as meeting with the families of hostages and participating in a variety of campaigns to amplify the call for their release. His tour of Kibbutz Be'eri—one of the communities hardest hit by the recent conflict—highlighted his support for those directly affected by the violence.

Rapaport also appeared on the popular Israeli satire show "Eretz Nehederet," where he participated in a sketch that humorously yet critically addressed Hollywood's response to the crisis. This appearance, alongside his ongoing podcast "I Am Rapaport," which he recorded during his stay in Tel Aviv, demonstrates Rapaport’s multifaceted approach to supporting Israel and its people.

His social media presence has also played a crucial role in his activism. Through various platforms, Rapaport has used his global following to raise awareness about the hostage situation, leveraging his celebrity status to draw attention to a cause that he believes is critical. His efforts are not just about performance but also about driving change and mobilizing support.

As Rapaport takes the stage in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv, his performances will undoubtedly be infused with the passion and solidarity that have defined his recent efforts, making for an impactful and memorable series of events.
